Good News!
We just hammered out the details to launch an education hour for children starting Sunday, October 21st. The curriculum is awesome and I am excited about being able to offer something for children again. Check out the information at our web site here. This is an exciting time in the redevelopment of our church.

I am so excited too! This reminds me of a story I heard once about a community who was faced with a drought. For many months there had been no rain in this community and people were unable to provide for themselves through their usual means of farming. It got to be so bad that the local pastor finally called for a day of prayer -- a prayer rally. He called the community to be faithful that God would bring the rain. He asked the community to bring with them a symbol of their faith. Some people brought their Bibles, some people brought a special piece of jewelry or an item from their home such as a cross or a person praying. The day of the prayer rally finally came. Everyone showed up with their items of faith. One little girl who was about 7 brought an umbrella. The pastor asked her why she brought an umbrella and the little girl said, "Because it's going to rain."
This story always stuck with me becuase of the little girl's faith that God would provide. This is how I feel about Sunday School. We may not have a lot of kids to begin with. We may not even have ANY kids to begin with. But we have to remember that God provides for us, that God is faithful, and that we should be faithful too.
We have been asking God for families to join our church and I am confident that they will come. I think it's a great idea for us to be prepred for these families WHEN they come...not AFTER they come.
Some people may think it's weird that we're coming to church every week with our umbrellas, but I am confident that pretty soon it's going to start raining.
What a great way to look at our Sunday School re-start. Approaching becoming a community church with attitudes like yours are so vital as we watch God change our church through families. I say, let it rain!
